Dr Adyasha Panigrahi, Chemistry Core PDRA

Adyasha received her Integrated MSc in Chemistry from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar in 2015. In her Master’s thesis, she worked with Dr. S. Peruncheralathan on the “Development of new α-aryl-β-amino acrylonitriles and application in synthesis of functionalized isoquinolines and isocryptolepine analogues”. Then she moved to the University of Manchester (UK) as a Commonwealth Scholar, funded by the UK government to undertake her PhD in Organic Chemistry with Prof Igor Larrosa. Her doctoral research focused on “Decarboxylative and C–H activation based novel methodologies for the functionalisation of benzoic acids and (hetero)arenes”.After completion of her PhD in 2019, she joined the EPSRC 2D-Health project where she is currently working on new strategies to functionalise graphene in Prof Igor Larrosa’s group.
